Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah says it suspends attacks on US troops

Iraqi group Kataib Hezbollah has suspended military attacks on US troops.

The groups announced it would cease security operations against the US after the death of three soldiers at a base on the Jordan-Syria border.

The Iran-aligned group released a statement, saying the decision was made “in order to prevent embarrassment of the Iraqi government”.

They went on to say that they will continue to defend their people in Gaza in other ways.

Kataib Hezbollah is a powerful faction of Iraq’s Islamic Resistance and has attacked US forces in Syria and Iraq more than 150 times since the beginning of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
