Herald Sun Business Commentator Terry McCrann says it is “absolutely clear cut” that the Reserve Bank of Australia will leave rates unchanged.
Reserve Bank Governor Michele Bullock will be holding a press conference on Tuesday after announcing its decision on rates.
“I personally think that it should cut by 25 basis points,” he told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.
“The reason I say that is because I think it was wrong to increase rates by 25 basis points on Cup Day.
“It really should fess up that it got it wrong, we didn’t need that extra rate hike and therefore it’s undoing it, but I think that would be a step too far.”
