Greens MP Max Chandler-Mather says Australians are in the “worst housing crisis” faced in “generations”.
Mr Chandler-Mather says Australia is experiencing “skyrocketing housing prices and rents”.
He raised concerns for the Albanese government’s housing scheme saying they are offering a policy that will “make the situation worse”.
“0.2 per cent of renters will be able to access this scheme every year – for the other 99.8 per cent of renters, this will drive up house prices.
“If we are going to fix the housing crisis we have to address negative gearing and capital gains tax concessions.”
