Queensland govt to invest nearly $3b into Sunshine Coast rail line

The Queensland government is set to invest nearly $3 billion into building a rail line into the Sunshine Coast.

The rail line is considered a critical project.

Premier Steven Miles has conceded the funding will only get the tracks as far as Caloundra for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Games are scheduled to take place in 2032.

Brisbane’s final submission to the International Olympic Committee outlined getting the rail line to Kawana in time for the games.
